JHTM Awarded A* Ranking on 2025 ABDC Journal Quality List

We are pleased to announce that the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Management (JHTM) has been officially recognised on the 2025 ABDC Journal Quality List, published by the Australian Business Deans Council, with an A* rating.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for the journal and affirms JHTM’s position as a leading international outlet for high‑quality research in tourism, hospitality and events. The A* ranking reflects the sustained rigor, relevance and impact of the scholarship published in JHTM, and would not have been possible without the dedication of our authors, reviewers, Associate Editors and Editorial Board.

JHTM remains firmly committed to publishing research that engages critically with the realities of hospitality, tourism and event industries, with research that moves beyond narrow metrics and growth‑centric narratives, and that foregrounds industry relevance, societal impact and responsible scholarship.

As our field continues to evolve, we view this recognition not as an endpoint, but as a renewed commitment and responsibility to excellence and service. Looking ahead, JHTM will continue to strengthen its academic contribution while deepening its engagement with the scholarly community. We are committed to enhancing the journal’s service role through our various initiatives such as webinars, research workshops and hackathons, annual awards (such as our signature Phd Best Paper Award) and to creating inclusive spaces for professional development, particularly for early- and mid-career researchers, whose voices are too often underrepresented.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed to JHTM’s journey to date.

Your dedication, expertise and trust have been instrumental in reaching this milestone.

We look forward to building on this achievement together as we continue to shape the future of hospitality, tourism and events scholarship.
