Re-launched for 2026

Mentoring Programme

Connecting our PhD Scholars and Early Career Researchers with senior colleagues to build mutually beneficial, long-term relationships — promoting career and personal development through connectivity and support.

The Process

How CAUTHE Mentoring works

We are calling for expressions of interest from all CAUTHE members to function as a mentor or mentee. Here’s how the nine-month programme comes together.

  • Please note that mentee participation is currently limited to PhD Scholars and Early Career Researchers — those who have completed a PhD within the past five years and hold a teaching or research position.

The Benefits

Rewarding for everyone involved

Whether you join as a mentee or a mentor, the programme is designed to be mutually beneficial.

Why become a mentee?
  • Draw upon the experience, insight, knowledge and skills of your mentor.
  • Broaden your professional network and feel better connected with the academic community.
  • Reflect on your own practices.
  • Enhance your career development opportunities.
  • Receive support, encouragement and constructive feedback.
Why become a mentor?
  • Enhance your coaching, communication, leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Expand your professional network.
  • Gain fresh perspectives and learn from the experience and knowledge of mentees.
  • Re-examine your own practices, attitudes and values.
  • Find deep satisfaction in supporting others’ development and sharing your accumulated experience — the altruistic reward of mentoring.
