Many thanks to those of you who have already submitted abstracts for the upcoming Transport and Tourism Special Interest Group Symposium to be held on 6 and 7 June 2013 at Southern Cross University, Gold Coast, Australia.

The deadline for submission of abstracts has been extended to 15 March 2013.  Abstracts need be no more than a page in length.

We are planning a small, intimate type symposium.  Ideally, everyone would arrive on 5 June and meet for dinner at a local restaurant.  The symposium would start formally the next morning.  We would end on 7 June with yet another group dinner.

The symposium will be located at Southern Cross University, Gold Coast campus, next door to the airport at Coolangatta. If you would like to book your accommodation, below are a few recommendations:

1. Kirra Surf Holiday Apartments: within walking distance to the airport and the campus (about 10 min walk to nearby restaurants in Kirra)
2. Twin Towns Outrigger Hotel: located one block from Coolangatta beach and about 5 minutes drive from campus   
3. For those willing to stay in Surfers Paradise, bear in mind that the campus is located about 30 minutes drive and one hour by bus from there.

Feel free circulate to other interested colleagues. While there are no conference fees, all attendees need to be current CAUTHE members.
